All She Needs is a Pole...

September 07, 2010

We may need new friends to sit by at PJB's Tuesday night ballgames.  I'm afraid we've just exhausted everyone in our section of the stands.  Lilah Grace does not sit well -- especially at the end of the day and especially when she has on her rain boots.  She does, however, love a good song.  Because of the wet field, the cheerleaders just did one cheer at halftime rather than their dance with the stunting.  That left us with a few empty minutes at the end of halftime.

One of the things I love about Alma games is our music.  Tonight we sampled "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head" along with our regular tunes.  A crowd favorite is "Sweet Home Alabama."  I mean, what southern state doesn't like some Skynard with their football?  With their everything?  Let me tell you, no one likes it as much as Lilah.  She was quite entertaining and it only takes a little bit of attention to just send her into performance mode.  Everyone had their golf umbrellas with them tonight, and one of the PJB's friend's dad was sitting behind us when he picked his up, turned it upright, and said, "Let's just give her a pole."  We all laughed until we just had tears rolling down our faces.

I wonder if people wonder what we do at home?  It just comes naturally to her.  I did let everyone know that we would accept tips next week, so bring those dollar bills.  Yep, we're proud.  If you got it, flaunt it!  (Not really -- this isn't going to be cute when she's 8! or 12! or 17!)  Never a dull moment...
