Kindergarten!
August 21, 2012Well, you knew it was coming! Here's the "Lilah Starts School" post! Today was wonderful and she had a great time. I forgot how dirty a day of school can make a kid, though. Thankfully, her hair was still in place even if she was a little dusty : )
When I woke her up this morning it only took a minute for her to remember what today was. We fixed her hair without a problem, got dressed without a problem, and put away "G" (her girafffe) without a problem. Packing her lunch was a little problem as she was not having a sandwich unless it was a grilled cheese sandwich. So, she ate in the cafeteria. We didn't have a menu, so I figured she'd eat or be really hungry by snack time. She ate despite that fact that lunch was Frito chili pie. Really? For the first day of kindergarten? Anyway, there was broccoli with Ranch dip, so she didn't starve. We have a Lunchable for tomorrow! She forgot that our friend had told her she had Lunchables and snacks in her room if she ever forgot her lunch or her lunch money. I forgot to tell her teacher about this little back-up plan, so I'm glad Lilah didn't try to handle the situation on her own and she ate the Frito chili pie she was served.
She had good things to say about the whole experience. Her favorite part of today was the TOUR. She cannot wait to get in that library! She found her friends from Becca's and made some new friends to play with, too. I don't think she's going to have any problems in that area. Like Jamie said, "She'll have friends. She'll make them be her friends." Ha! Here are some pictures from today. In this first one of all the girls, Molly has her eyes closed once again. She always has such a funny face in pictures if she knows you're going to take it. In the next one, I said, "Keep your eyes open!" Well, they are! It's kind of funny : )
